According to United Nations – Bitcoins do not exist as physical things; instead, new coins are “mined” or brought into circulation through a process that includes solving complicated mathematical problems with powerful computers.
Bitcoin mining can be argued to be partly responsible for the creation of greenhouse gases that cause climate change because fossil-fuelled power plants still make up a large share of the global energy mix.
Despite these concerns, UN experts think that cryptocurrencies and the technology that underpins them (blockchain) can help to promote sustainable development and improve environmental stewardship.
According to Simone Davidson from LexisPSL, the goal of COP26 is to put the world on the road to achieve net-zero emissions by the middle of the century, emphasising power generation, transportation, and deforestation. Other objectives include protecting people and the environment via adaptation planning, mobilising financing to combat climate change, and boosting global cohesion and cooperation to speed action.
The future is already here; it is just distracted across the earth, the nature has wholly altered by blurred activities. Crypto technology can play a vital role in filling this gap.
