LONDON, Oct 25 (Reuters) –

According to the finance ministry, the government’s budget announcement on Wednesday will include a hike in the minimum wage for people aged 23 and up to 9.50 pounds ($13.06) per hour, up from 8.91 pounds.

“This wage increase ensures that labour pays and keeps us on track to accomplish our goal of ending low pay by the end of this Parliament,” said finance minister Rishi Sunak.
